Whoopi for Sylvia’s
On a very sunny Saturday, July 11, 2015, Whoopi Goldberg hosted a rockin’ block party in memory of her brother, Clyde Johnson. Sylvia’s/CCA was there to support her, her friends and the neighborhood by dishing out plates of Sylvia’s famous fried chicken, black-eyed pea salad and fresh popcorn flav’d with Sylvia’s special blend of natural spices. Other participants included Sabrett hot dogs and Koolaid for the kids. Rides, games and a DJ kept everyone movin’, groovin’ and chewin’! Tren’ness Woods, granddaughter of Sylvia Woods of Harlem’s famous Sylvia’s’ restaurant and Geoffrey Schaber of CCA, event marketing specialists.
Hunger hurts.
Healthy food is a basic need that can, unfortunately, be in short supply for too many, especially children. Supporting the neighborhood and local communities across the country with education, access and opportunity to have enough to eat is a noble cause. Keep up the good work!
